We warmly welcome and sincerely appreciate the TAIPEI Act passed by US Congres
s and signed into law by President Trump. Once again, the United States govern
ment has shown its staunch support for Taiwan.
　　
The legislation signed today enables Taiwan to maintain and expand its presenc
e in the international arena. The US would use a whole-of-government approach
to ramp up its support for Taiwan’s participation in international organizati
ons. This is particularly important when the whole world is combating COVID-19
, but Taiwan is excluded from the WHO and sharing its best practices with the
international community.
　　
We look forward to deepening our ties and cooperation in all fields with the U
S. Together, we can promote the shared values of democracy, freedom and justic
e in the Asia-Pacific region as well as in the world.
　　
The support of the government and people of the United States is immensely app
reciated and cherished.

Unanimously approved in the house and senate. I'm glad our lawmakers can all a
gree to support Taiwan's freedom and democracy in the face of China's authorit
arian bullying. I certainly wish they would do more, but this is a great step
in the right direction.

Finally. Backbone to stand up to China. Corporations should work together with
 government to do the same. Same for countries with shared democratic values.
