Knicks' 67 points tie team's playoff low

In Game 1, the Knicks scored 67 points, which tied a franchise record for the
fewest amount in a playoff game during the shot-clock era. They scored that
many points in Game 2 of the NBA Finals against the Spurs on June 18, 1999.

Here's a deeper dive into five ways the Knicks reached futility Saturday
evening on offense:

1.They only scored 20 points or more in one quarter (the fourth). In the
second, in which they got outscored 30-13, they only made five field goals.
After Carmelo Anthony made the last basket in the period on a 18-foot
jumpshot with 2:06 remaining -- the team's last one until the half -- LeBron
James scored nine points in the final 1:34.

2.They went through Anthony far too often on the same side of the court, and

defense. "I think our offense wasn't running real well tonight," Mike Woodson
said postgame. "You have to give them credit, but we played on one side of
the floor too much tonight." Tyson Chandler agreed, saying, "We have to
improve on our spacing next game. We could have exploited some things. We
kind of stayed on one side of the floor, which is to [the Heat's] strength.
We just got to do a better job of moving the ball a little better." This
brings up a valid question: Is the Knicks' offense too one dimensional
centered around Melo and not creative enough? Woodson has a lot of work on
his plate to try and integrate Amare Stoudemire better into the offense, so
they can get some more looks inside and have easier opportunities to kick it
out to the team's shooters: J.R. Smith and Steve Novak.

3.Chandler, quite frankly, needs to get healthy for Game 2. While the Knicks
had only eight second-chance points, the Heat had 20. Chandler is a superb
offensive rebounder, and his physical weakness on Saturday limited his
activity on the glass. If the Knicks keep launching jumpers, which they've
been accustomed to do doing with shooters Anthony and Smith currently being
the team's best scorers, they'll need offensive rebounding support to
capitalize on their missed shots (and from others). Without an inside
presence, the Knicks' misses will really feel like misses, and that could
affect their confidence level and zap them of building any rhythm.

Smith did that well in those situations in the second half today, scoring on
drives through the lane. Amazingly, he didn't even get to the line once, but
that was an entire team problem. While the Heat shot 33 free throws (making
24), the Knicks only shot 11 (making 10). That has to change.


5.Landry Fields was effective offensively in his limited minutes (eight points
in only 18 minutes), but as usual, Woodson went with Smith down the stretch
off the bench. Fields' scoring will be needed in Game 2, especially with Iman
Shumpert out now for six to eight months with a torn ACL and lateral meniscus
in his left knee.
5.Landry Fields上場時間雖然有限，在進攻方面卻也打得活躍(上場僅18分鐘拿下8分)，
然而武僧一如往常，還是選擇給了JR更多上場時間。下場比賽，尤其沒了香波，
