The struggling Chicago White Sox, whose fall out of contention culminated with m
oving veteran players at the trade deadline, were plagued by a culture that had
"no rules" in which a rookie regularly fell asleep in the bullpen, former White
Sox relief pitcher Keynan Middleton said Sunday.

今年打得很糟糕且已經不在競爭行列內並在交易截止日開賣隊上數名老將的芝加哥白襪，星
期日遭曾效力於該隊的中繼投手指出白襪球隊文化毫無紀律，新秀們甚至經常在牛棚裡睡覺

"We came in with no rules," Middleton said. "I don't know how you police the cul
ture if there are no rules or guidelines to follow because everyone is doing the
ir own thing. Like, how do you say anything about it because there are no rules?


"You have rookies sleeping in the bullpen during the game. You have guys missing
 meetings. You have guys missing PFPs (pitcher fielding practices), and there ar
e no consequences for any of this stuff."

“我們隊上毫無規則。我不知道如果你一點規則或方針都沒有的話該如何導正球隊文化因為
大家都在各做各的。你毫無規則的話你還能說什麼?

你有菜鳥球員在牛棚裡面睡大覺；你有球員缺席球隊會議；你有球員不出席投手守備練習。
而上述這些行為都不會收到任何處分。

Multiple sources, who corroborated Middleton's account to ESPN, said a pitcher w
as seen napping during games as well as skipping fielding practice.

When contacted Sunday night about Middleton's remarks, the White Sox said they h
ad no comment.

多個內線都呼應了Middleton所說的事。有一名投手在比賽中被看到在睡午覺且還缺席了守備
練習。

"The second I found out I was traded, I shaved my face," Middleton said. "I was
ready to play by their rules because all I want to do is win games. ... You know
 how to act [here]. You know not to be late and you know there are consequences
if you are late."

"When I got to spring training, I heard a lot of the same stuff was happening la
st year," Middleton said. "It's happening again this year, so not sure how I cou
ld change it. They don't tell you not to miss PFPs. They don't tell you not to m
iss meetings, and if it happens, it's just, 'OK.'"

“當我在春訓時就聽說了很多去年這隊也發生的一樣的鳥事。今年仍故態復萌，我不知道我
能改變任何東西。他們不會管你缺席投手守備練習；他們不會管你缺席會議。當你真的犯錯

"I wouldn't say anything bad about the pitching staff," Middleton said. "We went
 about our work the right way. I think the rest of the team struggled to do the
right thing."

"If you're trying to create culture, you need your big dogs," Middleton said. "T
he guys who played in the WBC were our big dogs, and those are the guys I feel l
ike can police the things that are happening.

"There was no jelling of the team. We're supposed to find our identity in spring
 training so we can roll out for the season. If you don't find your identity, yo
u're scuffling from Day 1."

“我們隊上毫無凝聚力。我們理應在春訓時明白自己的角色才能好好打完這個賽季。如果你
找不到自己的角色，那你從第一天就會開始掙扎了。”

Asked where the void exists with the White Sox, Middleton said: "Leadership in g
eneral. They say s--- rolls downhill. I feel like some guys don't want to speak
up when they should have. It's hard to police people when there are no rules. If
 guys are doing things that you think are wrong, who is it wrong to? You or them
? It's anyone's judgment at that point."

被問到白襪缺了什麼時，Middleton答:”簡而言之就是領導力。他們都會說一些讓事情變得
更糟的話。我覺得有些人並不想在他們理應站出來說話時挺身而出。如果你沒有規則，你很
難管得動任何人。如果有傢伙正在做你認為不正確的事，他是對誰來說是做錯?對你還是他們

On Monday, Middleton returns to Chicago for a three-game series against his form
er team, happy to be in a new setting.

"You hear about it before you come over here," Middleton said. "Did I want to sh
ave my beard off? Hell no. I had to. I wanted to be a part of [the Yankees]. The
re was no question."

星期一Middleton即將要回芝加哥對老東家白襪進行三連戰，他很開心他穿上了新的隊服。


“你在我到之前就聽我講過了。你覺得我想刮我的鬍子嗎?怎麼可能。但這是我必須做的。我

想要成為洋基的一份子，這毫無疑問。”
