《超級瑪利歐兄弟 驚奇》是睽違11年的瑪利歐橫向卷軸遊戲，
10月20日發售後的前兩週內售出430萬份，
是銷售最快的馬利歐遊戲。

不過任天堂的銷售數據統計是從Wii和Nintendo DS發行後才開始計算。

因為《超級瑪利歐兄弟 驚奇》暢銷，
IGN預計2024會持續熱賣
