The Pirates have signed right-hander Mitch Keller to a five-year extension, with sources telling ESPN the deal is worth $77 million. ...

 

The deal, which begins this year and ends after the 2028 season, will pay Keller
 $7.5 million in 2024 -- more than $2 million above where he had settled with th
e team in arbitration, according to sources. In what would've been his final yea
r of arbitration in 2025, Keller will receive $15 million. For the three free ag
ent years the Pirates bought out, they will pay Keller $16.5 million, $18 millio
n and $20 million.
