Nike’s Four + One Plan for MLB Uniforms, Cards City Connect Coming in 2024


We learned a couple of interesting uniform-related tidbits courtesy St Louis
Cardinals president Bill DeWitt III at the Cardinals Care Winter Warm-Up
event earlier today.

First, the fact Nike is suggesting Major League ballclubs limit themselves to
four overall uniforms plus one City Connect set.


Nike(於2023年初)建議美國職棒大聯盟球俱樂部將每一隊限制為只能有總共四套主客球

衣和一套 City Connect 球衣。



“Nike is now doing all the jerseys — and one thing I’ll point out about
Nike is that they have come to all the clubs and said, ‘We really want to
sort of streamline uniforms.’ So there’s a model out there that they want
to stick to called ‘four plus one.'” said DeWitt III, as transcribed by the
St Louis Post Dispatch. “You have four jerseys that you can wear — home,
road and two alternates — plus your City Connect when you unveil that.”

This was something that had been alluded to, but not confirmed, last year
when questions arose about eliminating the New York Mets road blue alternate
in favour of their home black set. This is probably a good thing overall;
some clubs were going a little overboard with their uniform options — this
still allows teams to go with a lineup of white, grey, primary colour
alternate, and secondary colour alternate, which seems reasonable to me.

2022年，當大家質疑紐約大都會隊取消藍色客場球衣，轉而採用他們的主場黑色球衣時，

Teams this could affect include the Arizona Diamondbacks, San Diego Padres,
and Tampa Bay Rays, who all had more than four regular uniform options
(excluding City Connects) during the 2022 season. We’ll see what those clubs
do to slide in under the four-plus-one cap for ’23.

Speaking of City Connect, let’s turn to the next bit of news DeWitt III
revealed.


這可能受到影響的球隊包括亞利桑那響尾蛇隊、聖地亞哥教士隊和坦帕灣光芒隊，這些

“We’re going to unveil the City Connect in 2024,” adding later, “I won’t
spoil it here, but suffice it to say, there will be some red on the jersey.”




去年球季開始，光芒隊跟水手隊捨棄他們的客場灰色正規球衣，主要是跟NIKE的4+1套

球衣政策有關


水手隊原本的球衣：主場白球衣+綠色球衣+周日主場復古球衣、客場灰球衣+深藍色球衣

光芒隊原本的球衣：主場白球衣+淺藍色球衣+魔鬼魚復古球衣、客場灰球衣+深藍色球衣


這兩隊當中目前只有水手隊有NIKE城市版球衣，因為他們本身已經有五件球衣了


為了配合NIKE的4+1球衣政策，所以去年球季開始光芒隊跟水手隊只能捨棄傳統客場

正規灰色球衣(目前光芒隊還沒有城市版球衣)



不曉得各位對於NIKE所建議的4+1球衣政策有什麼看法?
