(1) @Yankees: Prior to tonight’s game, the Yankees made the following roster
moves:
‧ Recalled RHP Jhony Brito (#76) and RHP Randy Vásquez (#98) from
Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
‧ Placed LHP Nestor Cortes on the 15-day injured list (retroactive to 8/8) with
a left rotator cuff strain.
(2) @Yankees: Earlier today, RHP Deivi García was claimed off waivers by the
Chicago White Sox.
(3) @Yankees: Today. the Yankees optioned LHP Nick Ramirez to
Triple-A Scranton/Wilkes-Barre.
(4) @BryanHoch: Anthony Rizzo is with the team in Miami and said that he feels
like he is making progress. He has played catch and can do some light jogging.
No hitting yet.
(5) @BryanHoch: Nestor Cortes said he will have 3-4 weeks of no throwing. He
is hoping to return this season. “It’s definitely tough. If we’re going to
make a run at it, we need everyone healthy, not only myself but Rodón and all
the other pitchers.”
(6) @BryanHoch: DJ LeMahieu had some imaging on his calf yesterday. Did not
show a strain, according to Aaron Boone, who said “we’ll see” when asked if
LeMahieu would be available off the bench.
(7) @BryanHoch: Not much new with Frankie Montas, who remains in a throwing
program at the Yanks’ complex in Tampa. Does not sound like he will make it
back to the majors this year.
(8) @BryanHoch: Luis Severino is tentatively scheduled to face the Braves on
Tuesday, Aaron Boone said.
(9) @ktsharp: Last Yankee to start back to back team games within reg season
was CC Sabathia on 7/11/10 and 7/15/10. That was the All-Star break, though.
The last Yankee to start back to back team games in a span of 3 days or fewer
was George Pipgras 7/29/1928 and 7/30/1928
(10) @ktsharp: Yankees now have a -1 run differential in all 115 games this
season

(11) @ktsharp: Luis Severino has a 9.46 ERA over his last 12 games (since June
2).
